About

Maria Maltseva is an attorney, writer, editor, and part-time piano teacher living in Seattle, Washington. She has more college degrees than she can count, and if there were only one thing she could do with her life, she would spend it studying everything she has not yet had the chance to learn. In her free time, Maria enjoys exploring the interwebs, roaming this pale blue dot, and getting lost in dreams. Her favorite things include snow, science, music, and art (not necessarily in that order). She’s currently studying to get her sport pilot’s license and, one day, she’d like to move to New York. Or London. Or New York. Maria is an active advocate for LGBTQ rights and also volunteers to help low income people avoid mortgage foreclosure.  She has participated in several piano competitions and won first place for playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue at the Eastside Music Festival in Bellevue, Washington. Aside from all that, she’s quite fond of poetry, photography, skiing, writing, and civil online debate.
