• “It’s fine to be an atheist…

…as long as you omit Islam from your list of the religions to which you object’

So saith David Frum, the American conservative.  It’s part of an article on the subject in the Spectator.  Like I say, if the atheists who run screaming away  from Islam think they are fooling anyone but themselves, they are mistaken.

On the other hand it appears to me there is no way we can win: if we speak about Islam we are Islamophobes; if we don’t, we are chickens. In either event, I think if we manage to piss both Noam Chomsky and David Frum, we must be doing something right.

Preach it, brother! To quote someone, there’s only one thing that really works, “to place nothing, nothing above the verdict of my own mind”.

There needs to be a concerted effort to get rid of this flippant use pf the word “phobia” by the left to describe any opinion they disagree with.
It’s a form of mental programming – get people to refer to the idea as a phobia so that they automatically assume it’s wrong. It’s actually a very rude type of playground name calling.
Anyone fancy starting a “contempt for misused phobias campaign”? If anyone can come up with a more snappy term I’d be grateful
