• Sagan’s take on government

If I were a superstitious person, I’d say he was psychic. But he wasn’t. He was simply a brilliant person who, unfortunately, recognized the beginning of a very dangerous trend.

I’m terribly saddened to share this and wish with all my heart he was incorrect. But I fear he wasn’t.

    1. I was shocked when I saw this video. I don’t remember any photos of him when his illness was getting worse in his last years. The images in my mind are from book covers or from the Carson Show. But what he had to say was prescience. It is happening today and according the latest rankings the Asian students are far ahead of the USA and to a lesser extent my country. If the ultra-right-wing tea baggers had their
way it will get worse, a scientific dark ages. And billions are spent on education, too.

      1. I know. It’s quite a paradox. A very sad situation, indeed.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I’ve taken on a HUGE writing project and it’s literally kicking my butt. On the bright side, I’ll earn enough to totally pay off my cancer bills. Yippee!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday. I’ll toast you with a fruity beer during our celebration. You do the same, my friend. 🙂

        1. I was a little worried there BethAnn and I wondered if your lack of response was something medical and I’m glad it wasn’t. Glad to hear about your writing project. We will have a houseful Christmas Day with my two daughters and grandkids so I won’t be drinking much. We’re supposed to be hit with a major storm today and tomorrow; freezing rain and turning into snow (8-15 in.) Oh well I’m not going anywhere. I won’t talk about the Leafs! Anyway, all the best to you and your
family and I hope the New Years is positive for you (I’m thinking medical.) Anyway, take care talk later.

          1. Awesome! Enjoy your family. You’re very fortunate to spend time with loved ones. I’m with my family, then heading out to see my little nieces… they said they’d give me a double-hug. They utterly melt my black heart. (I’ll be enjoying fruity beer when they go to bed, I imagine.)
