• A prostitution ring in a nursing home

    Here’s something I don’t think I can imagine.

The suspects are accused of running a prostitution ring out of their apartments, using cocaine, and ultimately causing drunks and drug addicts to bother others living in the building, pass out in the halls, and leave used condoms in the rec room.

STDs are evidently a growing problem in the Senior set. Good or bad, this situation is most certainly interesting.

    1. A sensible commentary. It’s stupid to think that seniors don’t have a sex drive. The sex gets a little weirder as I grow older, and I expect that will continue – but I think assisted living facilities and retirement homes that expect and enforce residents to be celibate are cruel. One of the saddest stories I ever heard was about a married couple who were sent by their family to a retirement home, and had to sleep apart for the first time in fifty years 🙁

      1. Agreed. As someone who has spent a fair amount of time volunteering at an assisted living facility, I can attest that the sex drive, indeed, doesn’t disappear in the 80 – 90 year old set. I also agree it’s cruel to separate couples if they desire to be together in their golden years. This is a subject I haven’t thought much about, but will continue to do so as my own parents age.

Thanks much for your thoughtful comment. You added a lot to the conversation.
