After a full day of travel by air and land, I am now in Bath, England, where Jenny and I intend to take a few days to enjoy seeing the Roman ruins, Jane-Austen-related sights and sites, and just the local culture (beginning a couple of hours ago with a hearty lunch that included some bottles of a fine local cider). In a few days’ time, we will be attending the World Fantasy Convention in Brighton, where Jenny has a panel about poetry but I have no public speaking duties for a change. Then on to London for some sightseeing, etc., and I will be giving a couple of public lectures on the weekend of 9 and 10 November.
I got plenty of sleep on the plane, so I’m hoping to cope without much jet-lag, but we shall see about that. Famous last words, etc. I’ll be reporting on our travels as we go.
