• Personality & Mental Health in Paranormal Believers

    20905_829725760416673_1224381131935872452_nRecently, I was asked to give a talk to the University of Oklahoma Secular Sooners, the Student Secular Alliance at OU. So, on National Freethought Day 2015, I moseyed down to Norman and gave a talk over some of the more interesting findings from some of my recent research projects.

    Specifically, I talked about findings from a large study examining the relationship between personality factors (specifically the Big Five factors) and how those differed in skeptics compared to believers in the paranormal. Next, I spoke on how paranormal beliefs were related to mental health factors in the same sample. Watch the full video below.

      Enjoyed your talk. Just out of curiosity, were the slides black text on a white background? In the video both the text and the background look blue to me.

      • Thanks! They were black on white – I think the lighting in the room plus the fact it was a LED screen made it look off in the video.
