I believe Coyne. His respect for the truth and facts (what BuzzFeed ‘journalists’ decry as “rejecting all kinds of faith“), and his ability to keep his own biases in check grant him the credibility to make allegations against Lawrence Krauss regarding sexual misconduct.
They got wrong each and every account of the episodes that I am familiar with, and we’re supposed to believe they got the Krauss story and everything else right? I’m sorry, I can’t do that — they blew up their credibility
What’s the evidence that there is sexism in the atheist community? Is the disproportionately low number of women in the atheist community due to misogyny? Anecdotal evidence is not enough.
For some atheists it is standard practice to just say someone is male and/or white, and/or cis-gendered to have a list of insults ensue and consider that a post. What about their money and support? Is American Atheists taking money from this people?

This a real, major threat to the skeptic movement. This is our actual hard target because if we don’t stand our grounds and our principles, there will be no skeptic movement left to fight pseudoscience, god-thumpers, the multiverse, the Singularity, or overmedication.
Maybe Weinberg wasn’t as accurate as he could have been, but his statement remains true to a certain degree. Some times evil is done without invoking a god; but it is always done with the psychological set of tools that characterizes religion.

If we care about society having a racism problem, I would argue you don’t fight racism with (positive?) racism, but rather with *equality*. It’s a principle problem, not a degree one.
Horseman envy will be the term used for the phenomenon of atheists who suffer delusions of grandeur and as a result, they think they can’t be wrong, and don’t understand why other atheists won’t worship them or accept everything they have to say in an uncritically fashion.
