Your right this is so bad in so many levels that commenting on it would take a small book.

This is clearly aimed at young readers. They managed to nail all the stereotypes about atheists and evolution. And of course, there was the threat of eternal hellfire. Classy.

    Seems right on to me….

I think we found the source of what that kid at SR is saying.

Damn shame everything in it is a lie… but they would rather be lied to by Christians that told the truth by anyone else.

I don’t know why but, I am stunned. For half my life I was Tyler, yet when I am confronted with the outright, bald-faced lies, I sometimes find it difficult to believe the depths to which some religious people are willing to sink in order to propagate their beliefs. I know that many, many people who teach this sort of complete shit to their children actually sincerely believe it to be true. Though their ignorance is often willful, it is ignorance nonetheless. The truly evil people in this scenario are those who know that what this cartoon portrays is a lie yet produce it – and all the other crap like it – anyway. It is the same frustration and disgust I feel when watching someone like William Lane Craig, who knows the truth of his opponents’ views and scientific consensus, yet carries on as though he doesn’t and continues to lie and lie and lie. AAARGH indeed.

I’m sorry for my lack of commentary, but as you appear to agree, there is sooo much wrong with this, it is just too depressing to even counter!

Chick tracts. Talented cartoonist, its a shame he waste his talent on fundamentalist, sectarian BS.

  • Clare45

You would think that the cartoon might actually put some kids off being Christians as the threat at the end is so nasty. Parents should also wonder what kind of people would want to scare a child with threats of eternal hell fire? Nice moral people of course.

Erk! Trial by Chick Tract … nooooooooo!
