Why should Darwin get a day? He stole other people’s ideas and argued against a strawman. Not only that here we are over 150 years later (after his book) and there still isn’t any evidence that natural selection is a designer mimic.

    is…is this a serious reply?

  • Richard Edwards

If it is then it’s clearly by someone who has never read any of Darwin’s work.

No, I don’t think it is. While there is some (small) case to be made that Darwin did make use of the ideas and work of others in assembling his theory, it’s certainly not true that he “stole” ideas.

And as for the charge that natural selection cannnot mimic a designer–well, that’s the great part about such a vague and all-encompassing term as ‘designer,’ isn’t it? It means whatever you want it to mean.

    Hi frisbee_kid,

Are you saying there is no evidence, or that you disagree with the evidence. They are two quite different things. Palaeontology was quite a large part of my degree and the first statement imagines me sitting in the lecture hall and labs for three doing nothing, whereas the second simply disagrees with what I was taught.

I would prefer you to at least admit that you disagree with the evidence than think that tens of thousands of students are sitting their degrees and studying nothing and then coming out and lying to you saying we studied evidence that we supposedly know does not exist.

It seems to me that to make the statement ‘there still isn’t any evidence’ would mark you out as a literally crazy, imagining us all sitting there doing nothing for three years, whereas if you say you disagree with the evidence at least you would be accepting that we all have had our days full – you just don’t accept it yourself.

Yes, he has a history of denying evolutionary principles.

    1. It was not targeted at children.
    2. Teaching science and critical thinking to kids is not brainwashing. This is brainwashing.

Or get hold of the truth and be totally h8-ed on, for it. YIR!!

Nobody hates you for your ridiculous beliefs. I despise you for your bigotry and your complete and utter lack of honesty, shame and common decency.

    JohnM,
Nobody hates the fact you accept absurd propositions. We don’t like the dishonesty however. I may laugh at the members of a flat earth society or the moon landing hoaxers but I don’t hate them per say. You could say I hate their irrationality.
