• Live Blogging – My son’s invented game

So, I’m playing a game with my boy, which he invented all by himself.  It’s called “Car Chase’.

4:00  So, we start.  We each have a Star Wars figure.  A LEGO figure and a hot wheels car.  We’re using the dice from the Star Wars figures.

4:01  There is also a large bucket of various pieces.

4:02  So, I go first.  I roll two dice and get to move my car.  But the star I rolled also means the dinosaur moves.  I have to roll another time to see if Obi-Wan Kenobi protects my car…… Whew made it.

4:03  The boy rolls and gets to draw two things from the bucket of many things.

4:06  I rolled doubles.  That means I get to control the dinosaur this round.

4:08  The boy rolls “speakers” and his car transforms and defeats the Clone Trooper.

4:09  I roll and then move the dinosaur.  I trade  atoken for my car back.

4:10.  The boy rolls “speed” and outruns my dinosaur.  He also takes Obi-Wan and uses the light saber to kill the dinosaur.

4:11  I roll and get to replace my card with another card.  I draw Han Solo.  But the boy uses his controller to move my car backwards.

4:12  The boy moves my car to the lightsaber.  He rolls “speed” again and catches my car… at the light saber.  He also has to discard and draw a card.

4:13 I roll… my car transforms… and I get the black LEGO token.

4:14 He rolls “speed” again.  Sigh.  He’s kicking my ass at this game.

4:15  If your car gets to the lightsaber, you have to declare something and switch between the players.  I declare LEGO figure and get the LEGO clone trooper in exchange for my LEGO firefighter.  I think I got the best of that deal, since the boy took a yellow token for my black token… I’m not sure what the yellow token does.  My opponent seems loathe to tell me.

4:17 I roll ‘double speed’.  But I get C-3PO and a the yellow token back?  I thought doubles was the dinosaur.

4:19  I use my black token to counter the controller.

4:21  I get the controller (somehow) and I move his car close to the dinosaur.

4:21  Crud, he rolled and now moves the dino away from his car and is now chewing on my LEGO clone trooper.

4:22 I draw a Battle Droid card, but I also get to move my car ahead.  Hmmm… I think that the rules are pretty fluid.

4:23  Apparently, the cars can mount the guns as well as the figures.  My car just got hit by a Clone Trooper grenade launcher.  ANd the boy crosses the finish line.

Well played, young man. Well played.
