In my neck of the woods, there’s a saying: Friends help you move.  Real friends help you move bodies.

This is supposed to be an expression of the power of a real friend to help you with anything, no questions asked.  It’s really a statement about love.  It’s not a statement about reality.

My across the street neighbor for several years had just such a friend.  Not too long ago, his friend called him… to help him move… a body.  It seems that the friend had been inebriated (drunk off his ass) and killed his girlfriend by beating her to death with a heavy glass beer mug.  So he called his best friend to help hide the body.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your point of view), both of them were not thinking very well, one being drunk and the other stoned, and left a trail that a blind, deaf dog with his nose cut off could follow.

My neighbor, being a real friend and thus also being an accessory to murder, served 5 years in the state jail system.

So, while the above is a good expression of the depth of friendship, if it becomes reality, then I would encourage you ask some serious questions about your friend and your actions.
