    If you thought Christian haters couldn’t get any more despicable than they already were, you were wrong.

    On Saturday, Dec. 15, Shirley Phelps-Roper announced that the church would picket Sandy Hook Elementary School on Sunday with the following tweet:

    Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment. [Emphasis added]

    I am speechless.

    But hey, nothing sings praise to the almighty like the faithful chickening out:

     In addition, the Inquisitr reports that after the Aurora, Colorado, shooting at The Dark Knight Rises premiere, the Westboro Baptist Church members tweeted their intentions to picket at a memorial service for victims, leading counter-protesters to prepare themselves. However, the church members never showed up.

    I was raised in the Islamic world. By accident of history, the plague that is entanglement of religion and government affects most Muslim majority nations a lot worse the many Christian majority (or post-Christian majority) nations. Hence, I am quite familiar with this plague. I started doubting the faith I was raised in during my teen years. After becoming familiar with the works of enlightenment philosophers, I identified myself as a deist.
