• Man decides his dog is “gay,” sends dog to kill shelter

Name any dog owner who hasn’t noted that their beloved pet will, on occasion, hump nearly anything. Sure, some dogs are worse than others in this regard, but, they’re dogs. They occasionally hump.

We once owned a Rat Terrier named Lucy who claimed one of my slippers. She’d “go to town” on it every morning. I purchased new slippers. I certainly didn’t do this:

A bulldog that was sent to a kill shelter when its owner suspected it of being a homosexual has been adopted and saved from euthanasia, thanks to the power of the Internet.

At least the dog was adopted. Here’s what happened:

“This guy was signed over to [Jackson Rabies Control], not [because] he’s mean or [because] he tears things up, but because … [h]is owner says he’s gay!” the caption under the photo explained. “He hunched [sic] another male dog so his owner threw him away [because] he refuses to have a ‘gay’ dog! Even if that weren’t the most assinine [sic] thing I’ve ever heard, it’s still discrimination!”

I hope the man doesn’t get another dog.
