• Satanism in Oklahoma?

    In celebration of what is perhaps my favorite holiday (next to May 4th), I thought I’d share an award-winning video one of my students made last fall. It concerns a place in the Oklahoma City metro surrounded by folklore and stories – the Purple Church. Supposedly a Satanist or “devil worshiping” church, the location is a poorly kept secret and as such the place has been the sight of untold thousands of teenage pants-wetting episodes. Katie Jones, an experimental psychology graduate student, took on the challenge of examining this urban legend, and came away from the experience…well, you’ll just have to watch the video to find out.
