Election Day Prediction Breakdown

Today is Election Day and I will be at the polls all day long with no internet access. That is the price I pay for writing my name on the ballot for Minority Election Inspector. In any case, I know the media is calling this election a squeaker, but it really isn’t. I’m going to call it right not.

Polling Place In A Mormon Temple

This year we have the first Mormon candidate for president and it is entirely possible that the polling place could very well be a Mormon Temple. If you are a Mormon who is undecided or is on the fence, could the fact that the polling place is a Mormon Temple sway you to vote for Mitt Romney? What if you are a recovering Mormon and your polling place is in a Mormon Temple; could that discourage you from voting all together?

Keep Synagogue and State Separate!

Election Day is right around the corner and all the focus is on the Presidential race. But there are other races going on too. In the district that I am from originally and where my parents still live, the congressional race is slightly heating up. First, there was the big primary battle between two incumbent Democratic congressmen and how the main race brings the issue of Synagogue and State to the forefront.

Technology Is Awesome!

It has been a difficult week as Frankenstorm Sandy has hit the east coast. A dead tree in front of our neighbor’s house fell and took out our powerlines. The tree could have gone the other way and taken out our house, so we are sort of happy. Our some parts of our fence in the backyard fell down, but aside from that just minor damage.

The Storm That Stole Halloween

The Frankenstorm is here and it looks like it will be affecting the area until Tuesday and maybe Wednesday. Prior to the storm, I had to take down my Halloween decorations from outside as I began the Frankenstorm preparations. Even if the storm is over by Wednesday, Halloween parades may be cancelled. If the storm hasn’t ended, Trick-or-Treating may be cancelled as well.

Atheists In Politics: Now Is The Time

We need a rational voice in government and right now there is only one congressman who is an open atheist and a strong supporter of our secular values. That congressman is Rep. Pete Stark, Democrat from California’s freethinking 15th. Now Stark is under fire in a tough political race with a fellow Democrat who just so happens to hate atheists.

Abraham’s Choice: The Story of Brother Stephen

A number of years ago, when I was doing the Dangerous Talk radio show on WCUR 91.7 FM in West Chester, I had a fundamentalist Christian preacher on the show who went by the name, Brother Stephen. Brother Stephen and his friends would travel to different Universities and tell everyone that they were going to Hell… even the other fundamentalists Christians.
