• Christmas Whine

Christians are always whining that atheists of trying to ruin Christmas. They say that we are “party-poopers” and that we are “pissing on their parade.” They even call us “big meanies.” Why? Because we demand equal treatment and because we put up billboards advertising our ideas to our demographics.

I have no problem with Christians who want to put up crèches and other Jesus related crap on their own lawns. If churches want to put up that kind of stuff on their tax-exempt properties, I don’t have a problem with that either… except for the whole tax-exempt part anyway. Is it deliberately offensive? Yes it is. They are basically telling people that Jesus was born and died for you. If you don’t believe that, then you deserve to be tortured for all eternity in Hell.

Still, no one has the right to be protected from being offended. So if that is what Christians want to do, that is fine with me. I will fight for their right to tell me that I am going to be tortured for all eternity Hell.

The problem comes in when they try to put their shit on government property and then whine and get offended when we try to do the same. That was the case with both the Tree of Knowledge and the Pastafarian Holiday Tree.

Christians call us whiners claiming that it is too bad if atheists are “offended” by their crèche. Then they turn around and whine about being offended by our holiday displays and billboards. What they miss is that we don’t give a shit about their crèche. We care about the separation of church and state. If they want to put up billboards threatening people with eternal torture in Hell, I don’t give a fuck. But don’t whine when we put up billboards telling other atheists to join the club. Don’t whine when we put up billboards reassuring other atheists that they can keep the merry and dump the myths.

It is as if the Bible said that Jesus turned water into whine instead of wine. Christians need to stop whining; they are ruining the holiday season with their imaginary “War on Christmas.” Atheists celebrate the holidays too. Many of us keep the merry and dump the myths. Christians need to stop being such poopy-heads and just enjoy the holiday season. Stop trying to piss on our parade. Just be good for goodness sake.
